ADMISSIONS
The Paul McGhee Division of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at NYU offers
undergraduate degree programs for adult students who are seeking a small college experience within
a major, urban research university.
Our admissions process is selective, evaluating the whole person to include both objective and
subjective judgments about an applicant’s ability to benefit from, and contribute to, the robust
learning environment that we offer. Successful McGhee students are proactive individuals who take a
meaningful role in charting their educational and career plans.
The Admission Committee welcomes applicants from many different backgrounds who demonstrate
the following characteristics:
- Motivation to learn and to succeed in a university environment
- Self-direction in setting goals and meeting deadlines
- Maturity, responsibility, and focus
- Intellectual curiosity about the world in which we live
- Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing
The SCPS Office of Admissions is here to make the application process a smooth one for you.
Explore the links below for detailed information about the application process. We also invite you
to schedule a meeting with an Admissions Officer to learn more about our programs and how to apply.
