MESSAGE FROM THE DIVISIONAL DEAN
Welcome to the Paul McGhee Division of NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional
Studies. Education is transformative in any environment, and in this great city, change and
transformation are essential for success. You owe it to yourself, as a highly-motivated adult
student, to pursue the most enriching educational experience you can find because the quality of
your learning will resonate through all aspects of your life and work.
Here at McGhee, you can reinvent yourself for the personal or professional role you have always
imagined yourself playing. Here, you can construct your own narrative, bridging the gap
between learning and work experience. Here, with a dedicated staff to assist you, a gifted
faculty to teach and mentor you, and a selection of co-curricular activities to enlarge your vision
of your city and your world, you will discover the power of an educational experience that is
unique to McGhee.
At base, education is a profoundly democratic enterprise, and adult education is an important
cornerstone of our democratic edifice. Those among you who recognize the importance of
obtaining a degree, no matter what your stage of life or your circumstances, will take heart in the
invitation I extend to you. If you are someone who is highly motivated to succeed, and
confident of your ability to do so, you should consider joining us in the McGhee Division for this
extraordinary journey we call lifelong learning.
