Dear NYU SPS Community,

As noted by President Linda Mills, in the wake of the events on Gould Plaza and the Greene St. Walkway, the university is organizing a variety of listening sessions for faculty, staff, and students to cultivate a dialogue as current events unfold. The free exchange of ideas is a bedrock principle at NYU, and these conversations are our path forward.

As we get ready to see our graduates off, I want to take this opportunity to celebrate the Class of 2024. I’m excited to see how our graduates continue to flourish and bring their NYU SPS experiences into their careers. I’m also incredibly proud of our entire NYU SPS community for all we’ve accomplished this year across our faculty, staff, and students.

Ahead of graduation, please join me in shining a light on our alumni and student speakers:

  • Morgan Brennan (DAUS, ‘06), co-anchor CNBC’s Closing Bell, will address the NYU SPS Undergraduate Class of 2024 after being awarded the NYU SPS Distinguished Alumni Award.
  • Lifestyle brand trailblazer and recent SPS Distinguished Alumni Awardee Robin Wilson (Schack, '03) will speak at the 2024 NYU SPS Graduate Convocation.
  • Undergraduates will hear from Matt Kraus (B.S. Real Estate and Urban Sustainability), who has successfully balanced his academic pursuits with a thriving career in the real estate industry.
  • Chaithanya Bhati (M.S. Management and Systems), whose professional journey includes crafting products for diverse industries such as AI, cloud computing, ed-tech, and SaaS with notable stints at industry giants like AWS, LinkedIn, and EY, will speak at the Graduate Convocation.

As a champion of adaptability, I have no doubt that the Class of 2024 will be able to sustainably grow and evolve their career path.

I look forward to celebrating our NYU SPS community throughout all of May, and for all to have a restful break.

Warmly,
